Tues 09-Dec: Sarah Chaundler's film: City of Cars
Our last Active Travel Cafe of the year was a little different - screening filmmaker Sarah Chaundler’s stunning, award winning documentary, City of Cars (25 mins running time). The film is introduced by Chris Boardman and shows the devastating impact of road violence on families and communities; charts the high profile campaigning of activists hoping to create safer streets; and looks at potential solutions.
We can only put a trailer of the film on YouTube, then the Q&A, and then the last couple of minutes, including a summary by Chris Boardman, and the end credits.
But Sarah would love to hear from anyone who would like to host a screening; or who can put her in touch with anyone else who might want to; or anyone who has links with a broadcaster. You can connect with Sarah on Linked in - @Sarah Chaundler or by email at sarah@jigsawpictures.co.uk.
She's also hoping to bring some funders together to support a suite of short films with an emphasis on storytelling, eg the need to keep pavements clear for people, through a national pavement parking ban; car ownership is set to increase over the next few decades, what needs to happen; what needs to happen to facilitate more people to walk and cycle etc...
